The Barrow House

BRIEF

To create a brand identity for a new village pub in Egerton that would represent a fresh start for the inn as a contemporary gastropub while appealing to locals and respecting the building's history, dating back to 1576.

SOLUTION

To draw on Egerton's oldest structure – the round barrow in a field to the east of the village. The unique landmark is a recognised Ancient Monument, thought to date back to the bronze age and it inspired mood boards featuring copper and bronze textures, earthy tones, jewel hues and circular motifs. The logo references the cartographic representation of bowl, bell and disk barrows while the colours are linked to the local landscape. A welcoming and characterful tone of voice was established across the website and marketing materials.
